Privacy and security are a hot topic these days, and users are more likely to get their personal files, passwords and login such as login to someone else.
This is especially so if you use that Fantastic USB flash drive. Due to their portability and large capacity, you can store a lot of data and information in them and they also have files that are personal, and they should not be open by any other person.
Many users keep all kinds of sensitive information on their USB drive, and this information can be devastating in the hands of someone else.
But we can not do anything, because USB flash drives do not come with any kind of security or protection and because USB drives can be easily lost or stolen, your data may fall into the wrong hands.
Do you know that to protect the data, can you hide the entire hard disk drive?
Encryption is the best way to ensure that no one can read your files. It scans your files and requires a secret key to access them.
Even if someone gets access to your USB hard drive, they will need a password (or file) to open them.
There are many third party data encryption software for this claiming that they are safe and secure, but no audit has been done to ensure the claim of these so-called software. When it comes to encryption, you need to make sure that it has been tested by the security professional.
At this time I will only recommend the VeraCrypt program, which is based on the earlier popular TrueCrypt.
Download and Extract / Install VeraCrypt:
VeraCrypt is free, open source (mostly,) and cross-platform encryption utility. This is an easy and secure way to encrypt any drive on your hard disk. In it you can also encrypt your USB drive. This is a trusted application.
VeraCrypt with Windows can also be used on Mac OS and Linux.
After downloading and installing VeraCrypt, this process will be similar to almost all platforms.
After downloading, you can install this utility on your PC or extract it and run its exe file simultaneously.

Step 2: Select Standard Or Hidden Volume
On the next screen, you have to select one of the standard VeraCrypt volume or Hidden VeraCrypt volume.
VeraCrypt supports two different types of encrypted versions. Standard volumes are simply basic encrypted volumes that are easily visible.
While hidden volumes do not appear to anyone. For most programs, they look like a random data or unformatted drive. Hidden volumes are an extra layer of security, but you have to remember where they are.
Select Standard VeraCrypt Volumes here.
Step 3: Select Your drive to secure USB Flash Drive
In the next screen, you have to select the volume that you want to encrypt. Here you have to select your USB drive.
Ensure that you have selected the correct volume, otherwise your PC’s hard drive can be accidentally formatted and encrypted.
Step4: Volume Creation Mode:
Also, select an option from here to encrypt only one partition on the entire device or device.
Here we are going to make our USB drive encrypted, so select Create encrypted volume and format it option.
Then click on the Next button.
Step5: Choose the Encryption
Here you have to select the encryption algorithm and hash algorithm. Obviously, this is an important step. The encryption you choose will protect your files. If you do not have enough information about encryption, leave it on the default and click on Next.
Step6: Create your Password
You can set your password on the next screen. Think about good, long and strong passwords here. If you forget your password, you will lose your data, so it’s important to remember it.

Step 7: Select Weather
On the next screen, you have to choose whether or not you want to support large files. If you want to store more than 4 GB files in this volume, then select Yes here.
Step 8: Format and Finish
After this, you have to format this USB volume and I would suggest not to change any of the settings here. Just select FAT in the filesystem, as it is better.
Click on the Format button and then the format of the format will start, which will take some time.
Close this window after the process is complete.
Step 9: Mount USB Drive
Now run the VeraCrypt.exe file again.
Select a drive letter here in which you want to mount your USB.
Then click on the Select Device button. Select your encrypted USB drive and click Open.
Lastly, click the Mount button at the bottom of the window.
