- WHAT ARE THE TYPES NETWORK WE USE
11. LOCAL AREA NETWORK(LAN)-
A Local Area Network(LAN) is a TYPES NETWORK that we use to connect computers and devices in a limited geographical area such as home, school, computer laboratory, or closely positioned group of buildings.
It supplies networking capability to a group of computers in close proximity to each other such as in office building, a school or a home. A LAN is useful for sharing resources like files, printers, games or other applications. A LAN in turn often connects to other LANs and to the Internet or other WAN. Most local area networks are built with relatively inexpensive hardware such as Ethernet Cables, network adapters, and hubs. Wireless LAN and other more advanced LAN Hardware options also goods.
For example, most flavors of Microsoft windows provide a software package called INTERNET CONNECTION SHARING(ICS) that supports control access to LAN resources.
22. WIDE ARE TYPES NETWORK(WAN)-
A Wide Area Network(WAN) is a computer network that covers a large geographic location. such as City, Country or Spans even intercontinental distance, using a communication channel that combines many types of media such as telephone lines, cables, and airwaves. A WAN spans a large geographical area, such as state, province or country. WANs often connects multiple smaller networks such as Local Area Network (LANs) or Metro Politian Area (MANs). The world most popular WAN is the INTERNET. Some Segments of the Internet, like VPN(VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK) based extranets, are also WANs in themselves.
33.METRO POLITICIAN AREA (MANs)
A Metro Politian Area (MAN) is a computer network that usually covers a large number of the area than LAN. For example, a network that connects two officers in the city, a neighborhood area etc.
A MAN is a large computer Network that usually spans a city or a large campus. A network spanning a physical area than a LAN but smaller than WAN. A MAN is typically owned and operated by a single entity such as government body or large corporation.
44.CAMPUS AREA NETWORK Or CONTROLLED AREA NETWORK (CAN)
A Campus Area Network (CAN) is a computer network made up for intercommunication of LANs within a limited geographical area. The networking equipment (Switches, routers) and transmission media (optical fiber, Copper plant, Cabling etc.) are almost entirely owned by the campus tenant/owner. and enterprises, university, government etc.
In the case of a university campus-based campus network, the network is likely to link a variety of campus buildings including. For Example, Academic colleges or department.
55.PERSONAL AREA NETWORK (PAN)
A personal area Network (PAN) is a computer network which plays an important role in communication among computer. and different information technologies devices close to one person.
A PAN may include wired and wireless devices. The reach of a PAN typically extends to 10 m. A wired PAN is usually constructed with USB and firewire connections. While technologies each as Bluetooth and Infrared communication typically form a wireless PAN.
66.HOME NETWORK –
A home network is a residential LAN which plays an important role in communication between digital devices typically deploy at our home. usually the small number of personal computer and accessories.
